The Tempranillo is a light garnet color with red fruit aromas of raspberry and cherry. The wine also shows cola, licorice, smoky cocoa flavors and a red dust finish.
This wine has medium tannins and some pretty low acid that help balance the goat cheese dipping sauce. The strong flavors of the beets and squash aren't lost by the wine and the cherry and raspberry flavors help the flavors to flourish. The smokiness of the maple syrup plays off the wine and mirrors the syrupy, smoky aromas from the oak aging the wine sees.
